The Bunkhouse At
Indian Trail
Indian Trail
Resort is one of the few resorts that still offer private
room accommodations in what we call our “Bunkhouse.”
A rustic, northwoods lakeside motel for men, the Bunkhouse
offers seven single rooms, two double rooms, a common bathroom
at the end of the hall, and a front sitting room where guests
can either relax and read a fishing magazine or visit with his
fellow anglers. For our guests’ convenience, the Bunkhouse also
has a spacious private shower, a microwave, coffee maker,
toaster, and a
full size refrigerator with a large freezer, however, bring your own
towels and coffee mug.
As far as
cooking your meals goes: in a nice spot overlooking the lake, we
have two picnic tables and two barbeque grills reserved for the
exclusive use of our Bunkhouse patrons. So feel free to bring
your own frozen steaks, brats, burgers, or chicken to create
your own lakeside feast! In addition to that, there are several
restaurants that have great food and reasonable prices that are
located within five to ten minutes of the resort.
Our newly
remodeled Loft with two twin beds.
One of the most
unique lodging accommodations on the Chippewa Flowage, our
Bunkhouse has housed countless angling enthusiasts over the past
fifty years, including such notables as football Hall of Famer
Larry Csonka, three time winter Olympian Todd Boonstra, and
blues legend Pat Hayes of the Lamont Cranston Band.
If the walls in
the Bunkhouse could talk, they would echo the hundreds of
exciting angling tales that have been told and retold within its
confines. In fact these walls do talk… for each room in the
Bunkhouse is dedicated to a different musky angler of
yesteryear, complete with photos and a biography of each musky
man. (Read about them all on our website in the section on “The
Trail Musky Men”.)
The Bunkhouse
is the perfect place for a father and son to start a family
fishing tradition and make memories that will last a
lifetime. Besides anglers, we welcome canoeists, kayakers,
photographers, bird watchers, star gazers, and anyone else who
just plain enjoys the outdoors.
While these
rooms are primarily meant for men lodgers, with advance notice
the entire Bunkhouse can be rented to mixed lodgers (men and
women) that are all in one group. This could include a
large family looking to all be under one roof, any group of men
& women in the same party, or any group of women anglers or
outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy the wonders of the
Chippewa Flowage.
In our
Bunkhouse, be sure to ask about the availability of our newly
remodeled Loft, a spacious, double room that is located - all by
itself - on the second floor of the Bunkhouse. Providing guests
with a fine overlook of the waters of the Chippewa Flowage, the
Loft has two twin beds, a comfortable couch, a table and chairs
to play cards on, dressers, a small refrigerator, microwave, and
a coffee maker. Upon special request, a third bed can be set up
in the Loft so, counting the couch, this room can sleep up to
four people. The Loft is also available to couples who would
like an inexpensive but comfortable get-a-way on a nightly
basis. For women lodgers in the Loft, private bathroom/shower
facilities are located in a nearby building. Rates for the Loft
are only $42/night/person.
On special request
for couples, we can set up a comfortable, king sized bed in the
Loft."
All other rooms are
only $37/night per person, and with a week’s stay for all
lodgers in the bunkhouse, we offer
either a free 14’ boat or $50 off on one of our larger
boat/motor packages. Clean, comfortable, simple, and reasonably
priced, the rooms at Indian Trail’s Bunkhouse provide anglers
and visitors alike with a quick, affordable get-a-way
that they surely will not forget.
Whether you are
only up for a day, the weekend, or have a week or two to spend,
Indian Trail Resort is pleased to welcome you as our guest.
